Students: it's time to start thinking about StoryCon, a national convention in Salt Lake City celebrating readers, writers, musicians, and all storytellers, being held February 5-6 in Salt Lake City! If you have written a short story (or even just a first chapter of a novel) or a poem, an original piece of music, made a short film, or could use your artistic skills to design a book cover, then you need to check-out StoryCon's Contests by going to https://www.storycon.org/contests. This could be your chance to get noticed by professionals in the music, art, or publishing industry! Most contest deadlines are November 15! If parents or students have any questions, feel free to email the Two Rivers' librarian, Maureen Grover, at magrover@wsd.net, or students can stop by the library to visit with her about the contests or going to StoryCon in February. The school has 10 students tickets (value: $200), so students should come get their name on the list! Attending both days and turning in notes can earn students .25 English credit!
